A Card Box for my Faeries Oracle Card Deck

I bought a oracle card deck off and friend. She carried it in a lovely scarf which she wanted to keep so after a month or so of having the deck I felt it needed a box to hold the cards in. I went through my paper collection to see if I had anything that might compliment the card deck.  It isn't easy to try and find something that would compliment Brian Froud's art work. The deck is the Faeries Oracle by Brian Froud and Jessica Macbeth.

To my total delight I have two sheets of some pretty Kaisercraft papers which I used for the outside and a few off cuts in my scraps bag that were big enough for the inside.

This was a lovely little project that has a great purpose as I am now not to worried about losing cards or my cat getting hold of the deck.

The Spoons Book.

Hello crafters.

Wow it has been a while and I DO hope you are all well.

I have a BIG treat for you all today, I have a very personal and brand new project to share with you which I started a few months back. I have shown a few sneak peeks along the way but today I am finally happy to show you the whole thing. Of course there is a video on my youtube which will brush over some of the content, because you are here to see the pretties.

It is called The Spoons book because I have created it to preserve my Spoons Useage. The Spoon Theory was created by Christine Maserandino who has Lupus. I recommend you go and read the story in the link, it shall illuminate much about this book.

I chose the Harry Potter story for the theme because of what it represents: Harry's battle against an unknown and insidious enemy and in the end being victorious. There is of course a bit more to it really but that is what it really boils down to.

There is also some beautiful fan art out there in the big internets.
The silhouettes are done by: GTRichardson
The beautiful book illustrations are from: Gabriel Picolo
I managed to find the marauders map too along with many of the newspaper articles from the movie from various sites and forums.

The file so far has been a wonder to create and also invaluable in the content and helping out in some dark places.

Today is a very simple and elegant card I made as an order for a friend's aunt who has been a great support while they were waiting for their child to be born.

Birthday Cards for WA

Hello create types! Welcome, welcome. Time for a cuppa of tea or coffee, whatever your poison, and to sit and see what I can inspire you with today.

I have some dear friends down in Manjimup, Western Australia, who apart from having the birth of their son only a week and a half ago they both celebrate their own birthday a day after one another this weekend. More cards were in order. This is what they got.

Happy Birthday to you both.

Birth of Spawn

Hey crafters, I hope you are all well and have some exciting projects on your craft desk. Today I will be sharing with you some more inspiration, although the theme is slightly different.

A good friend of mine asked me to create some cards for him to send to family to announce the birthday of his son. There was a bit of back and forth on theme ideas and we settled on vintage with some steampunk, however some thing in one of the emails stuck with me. My friend has a different sense of humour, as do I and in the end found a middle ground with what we planned.

So yes these two cards say birth of spawn (his words not mine) I just thought it was very apt for who my friend is. These two cards went to sisters, naturally, who would get the joke in it all.

These two cards were the more...tame should we say. These were for the older generation of matriarchs.

The cards for created using card stock as the base and Ephemera and papers were from my 1920 collection which you can find HERE on my webstore as printables, which these were. The gear were a collection of what was in my embellishments box.

Welcome little Lucien and congrats to my friends on his arrival and addition to the family.

Mini Album full on Memories

Hello Crafters.

I trust you are all well, and have many projects sitting waiting for your attention on your craft desk. I am very glad though that you have taken some time out to sit and read my blog, hopefully with a coffee or a tea which ever way your preference may run. Sometimes it is just nice to take a little break even from crafting.

Today I don't have a new project, but I am working on a couple which I am sure will be posted very soon for your viewing. The project I am showing you today is a mini alum which I finished November of 2015. However, I have since filled it with many of my photographic memories and I wanted to show you the end result.

This was the mini album I filled up and in a few way I am sort of glad I made the errors I did which meant it did not go up on my webstore. I talk about the mistakes I made when putting this mini album together in the video. It was a great learning curve for me, it was the first project I got a little cocky on and I paid for it, sort of.

Since showing the last photo journal I filled up, I heard from many crafters who were amazed I actually filled my albums. Do you put photos in the mini albums you make? I would love to hear and see what you make.

Custom card: Mothers Birthday

Welcome crafters, I hope you have a lovely cup of tea if you are in the colder end of the world or a nice refreshing cool drink in the more warmer areas of the planet. Where ever you are I hope you have many projects waiting for your attention on your craft desk today, or you are looking for some inspiration.

One of the amazing things I have found since being in a wheelchair is the support community out there. An acquaintance sent me a care package a while ago of some heavenly wax melts, with the best smells ever! She was a recipient of a hand made card from May. I ended up running very low on a fav wax melt sent and offered to do a barter with her that if she did another batch of wax melts and made a few for me i would make her a card or two in exchange.

Here are the cards I made for her.

Happy with the arrangement at the end of the day.

Do you have similar types of arrangements with people when it comes to your craft?

Cafe au Lait Book Kit Finished Photo journal

Hello crafters and creatives and welcome to my blog.

I created a book using my Cafe au Lait book kit printable about year ago and about a week ago I completed putting in photos to make it my most recent photojournal.

I used a long stitch binding from a Marion Smith project which I liked at first, however realised after using the book and adding pictures to it there was a lot of strain put on the binding. I would use coptic stitch in future.

I hope you liked this project and as usual if you have any questions or comments leave them below.

Friendship Canvas

Hello lovely crafters and followers. I am sorry I have not been around much, life and my situation has been getting the better of me, however things turns for the better this week. I have been busy.

New project is a custom order canvas that a new friend in Queensland commissioned for a dear friend of hers. Her directions were, Pink, flowers and pretty. This is what I came up with. Both the buyer and recipient LOVED it, which I am so happy about.

I used my Forgotten Meadows collection that I printed one sheet as an A3 to give me a base. In my stash I found this beautiful piece of antique pink lace that I had not found a project for in a number of years. And what do you know, it looks perfect. I printed out some of the ephemera from the Forgotten Meadows Book Kit too and added that in.

I am really happy with how it all turned out.

Getting back in to the swing of things.

Hello followers and welcome to another post today. I know that it has been a while since my last post which I am very sorry for. I have been taking some time to organise things to accommodate my wheelchair "Serenity". I am starting to get back into some craft work as my pain levels are easier to manage because of Serenity.

During the adjustment and adaptation period I had some lovely friends help me out with various things to help with my mental state and wellbeing.  To thank them I made some easel cards. There was also a birthday girl amongst the list, who was so kind to take me out on her day off when she was working. I was very thankful to all who were there for me and helped out and I wanted them to know that I was so very thankful.

For these cards I have used the Kaisercraft After Five flocked paper which I totally love but am running short of but it is a beautiful paper with its richness.

The wood embellishments were what I had lying around some kaisercraft and others I have no idea who made them. But I painted them black and then coated them in Crackle Accents which is a fav of mine. I then went over the embellishment in spots with some silver and copper pigment ink on a dauber. Really loved that effect.

Butterflies, well you know me and butterflies. the brighter the better!

And there needed to be some bright flowers.

I am rather pleased with how they all came out and grateful for the therapeutic effect that the crafting hand on my mental health and physical wellbeing.

I have some layout plans which are sitting waiting for me to get through the list of other things I need to get done now that I am in less pain and more mobile. SO WATCH THIS SPACE!
