Scrapbook Layout WANETD

My brother sends me the BEST photos sometimes, usually around Halloween. 

This was one of those quick layouts I started in December last year, 

 

Edit: Some of you by now would have noticed the spelling error, I or my housemate did not notice this until I have originally posted this. This is what dyslexia looks like. The funny thing was my brother was the one who pointed it out and took it as an intentional joke. He too is dyslexic and more so than me.

HI creative types and regular readers.

I have a Halloween special for you. Last year on Halloween my brother sent me this photo before he went off to a party. Something to know about my brother and I is if you are going to make and effort at all we do a really good job of it. 

With this layout my aim was working with textures. So I did a lot of black on black with a few textile stamps with silver.

The lettering and circles were done using my Silhouette Cameo again.

My Big Brother

Hey Crafters, 

After my move 4 weeks ago, I found some layouts I had been working on during December.

During December, while in my second stint of recovery from my surgery, I pulled out some photos of my brother and did some quick layouts. I had some recent photos from his visit to Adelaide in 2014 and a few I pinched off his Facebook gallery. 

  

I didn't spend too much time of planning these layouts and just grabbed papers and embellishments and put it all together in under an hour. I rather enjoyed the process, sometimes it is just good to do things a little differently. Stops activities from becoming predictable. 

The idea was to use methods and techniques I hadn't for a while. Stamping and sprays and things along that line. Also pulled out embellishments that I haven't used for a while. Overall it was a load of fun and now that my craft corner is set up I might do this regularly. 

Brother & Sister

Another photo of my brother but this time with me. I used the G45 Steampunk Debutante paper again and added some washi take just to break up with background. Imaginarium Designs chippies are so great and as I mentioned before I love their titles. Had to play around with the colour  of the chippies a bit because it was too light to begin with. the brick wall chippie was from Scrapbooking N Craft. The piece comes as a 12 x 12 chippies which I cut a portion out of. I also found some fantastic metal charms at Seriously Scrapbooking the other day which works in perfectly.

Moments In Time

With my brothers recent visit I made sure I got as many photos are I could while he was here. The last photos if seems I took of him were over 5 years ago.

The two weeks he spent here were great, adding to this was the bond Danial and Rod established. They were as thick and thieves by the time Danial departed. It was like dealing with two 13 year old boys the entire time but it was a blast.

I got to use more of those lovely Imaginarium chippies. They are just SO versatile and take anything you throw at them. I love the designs too, great title pieces and gears. Trying to figure out that paper to use was the killer really, but I eventually settled on G45 Steampunk Debutante's ledger page. I loved the colour but it needed something to break it up which was why I did the burnt orange clock piece with my Silhouette Cameo. 

The rest all just came together in the end. I had to do a little bit of fiddling with the gears to get them sitting in the right place and the final touch of adding the clock hands just consolidated the layout.

This will be added to my file in my family tree file boxes that I haven't been working on for months now. I plan on getting back in to that project and completing it soon.
