The Melbourne Aquarium

On the last day of my Melbourne trip I went to the Aquarium with my host and travel companion.
There are a whole lot more photos on my Flickr account including much more of the Jelly Fish.

Crafting and Studies

Lately I have been very focused on my studies, working towards completing the last of my online units before the end of the year.

I have found the time now and again to get some creative work in, although with not going to weekly classes it is harder and harder to find the time. Perhaps I should look at doing projects at the sames times I would have gone to classes. Might try that for next week.

I have managed some creative projects through

Adelaide's Kaisercraft Outlet closure

Some of you may be aware of this by now, Kaisercraft head office has decided to close down the Kaisercraft outlet store in Adelaide. Doors will close on the 12 October. Obviously I will not be teaching any of my classes that they had requested we arrange a couple weeks ago, which was meant to be a positive thing, but unfortunately caused more problems than what was needed by all. As a result of all of this I have had to stop going to my weekly card and scrapbook classes.

I am looking at running my own classes if I am able to find a venue, as my own home is aptly dubbed "the Tetris house". If any one is interested at all in learning basic photography and later on maybe a few card making and scrapbooking classes please contact me so I can start on a contact list.

Paperific Expo 2012 Melbourne

The end of August saw the opening day of Melbourne's Paperific Expo. This Expo is aimed at crafters, card makers and scrapbookers giving the chance for suppliers to show off their goods and manufacturers to exhibit new and up coming collections.

Unfortunately I was rather disappointing with the show, however did come across MANY flourish merchandisers, finding some great things on offer. Over all prices of the stall holders were pretty much the same as what I can purchase the same items for in Adelaide and there was a shameful lack of tools being offered by the outlets. My biggest shock was Silhouette Australia, I held off buying replacement mats and blades for my Cameo, thinking I would get good prices at the expo, only to find out that their prices were much more costly than what I can import from the USA after postage has been included.

The positives of the show was finding heaps and heaps of chipboard flourishes on sale through a number of different stall holders. Twiddleybitz being one of these stall holders, who designs were magnificent. They have an blog as well, twiddleybitz.ning.com/. Scrapbookingcrafts was another with heaps of steampunky designs with cogs and gears.

My loot from the Expo

People at the show. The young boy in the entertainment unit has snacks and a dvd playing in the push chair. He was quite content.
