Meg's Garden: blossoming of spring

Hello all

I thought this month I would do something pretty. So this naturally required flowers, butterflies and bright flowery paper, the outcome of which evokes feeling and spring time glee.

I wanted to add a bit more dimension the the background paper, so I used a kaisercraft mask.
I covered the Large Oval laser frame fr006 with crackle paint and after it dried I applied some ink to age it a little bit. The lovely old photo of the two angels came from the 'Tis Christmas Time Collection (Christmas Angels P6366) as well as the background paper (Christmas Flowers P6362), which I like for the red and vintage white pallet. The flowers and leaves were just plain white ones that I misted with some crimson Glimmer Mist. Of course there had to be butterflies which you can get here, love the colors of them so much.

Adelaide Botanic Gardens: A walk through.

I decided to go to the Botanic Garden in Adelaide City yesterday, the need to get out of the house was too great! It was so nice to get away from the hustle and bustle of Christmas crowds, the sales,  people yelling at your about how good their products are and that you MUST have them. I got through around 8:30am and I was in heaven. Nice weather, apart from a few drops of rain, and perfect lighting to take photos.

There are more photos which you can see on my flickr site HERE.

Wood embellishments and Chippies

Today I thought I would do a showcase of projects I have done showing the use of wood embellishments or chippies. I use a lot of kaisercraft wood embellishments mostly because I wood at the Adelaide Outlet and bought a heap of them before I left. It isn't that I favor wood embellishments  just a matter of accessibility and convenience. I have seen some chippies I would LOVE to get my hands on and do some projects for, which is likely to happen at some point in the future. Some of my favorite projects are:

Some techniques used on these projects are simple painting, using embossing powder, and glassy accents to have a lovely varnished look.

Meg's Garden: A touch of Christmas

I am a bit of a sucker for most things art nouveau, the colors, lovely flowing organic lines, it is just all very pretty. So when I was invited to join the design team at Meg's Garden, I came across the beautiful Christmas collection. Further more I found the 'Tis Christmas Time Collection has a divine paper with these lovely tag designs (Christmas Day P6367) which I knew I HAD to use.

The paper flowers I colored with some paints and the lace I just inked a little
